Teaching

Anchor 1
"I enjoy
teaching..."

I enjoy teaching and would be very pleased to help you to make first steps and to progress in knowing the Korean language and culture.

During my teaching at the University in Korea, my ‘Teaching Evaluation’ was generally high. At some semester ranked top (95.42 points).

Being patient, responsible, goal-oriented, and passionate for the students, I not only respect students’ autonomy but keep the strict way of teaching in order to successfully perform curricula I planned. I believe I give full play of my ability best when teaching.

Korean
Language

My mother tongue is Korean. I got an official certificate to teach the Korean language to foreigners from Korea University in Seoul.

I offer courses for private or company, on-line and off-line. For those who are interested in learning the Korean language, this could be as a preparation for traveling, to get closer to Korean culture (K-pop, film, etc), or for more ambitious skills of speaking and writing Korean.

Korean Culture &
History

I have Ph.D. degree in literature and history, published four books, and taught at universities for seven years in Korea.

My main study areas are the Western encounter with Korea, Korean history, Korean culture, Korean cinema, Korean literature. And I gave lectures mainly relating to the film, literature, cultural study, and creative writing.

My recent book (2013) is about Korean history and society, especially focusing on Korean culture and Korean identity. This book was chosen as ‘Honored Script’ by KPIPA, reviewed over 15 times in mass media. I gave speeches and interviews over 20 times related to the theme of the book.

Based on my academic and writing experience and background, I would be very happy to give a lecture to those who are interested in Korean history, culture, and society. It would be also a good opportunity for me to rethink about Korean history and culture from the third, new perspective with you.
